Got questions?

  • The T-Mobile Starlink beta allows you to be among the first to experience satellite-to-mobile connectivity for free. By joining, you’ll help us shape the future of this service by testing it and providing valuable feedback.

T-Mobile Starlink beta will begin with text-only messaging through your phone’s native messaging app. This means you can send and receive standard text-based messages, including texts to 911. In the future, T-Mobile Starlink will also include picture messaging, data services and voice calling

The free beta will continue until T-Mobile Starlink launches in July of this year.

  • Anyone – on any carrier – can register to participate in the beta. We’ll admit people on a rolling basis, so we encourage everyone to sign up as soon as possible.

  • While you are waiting, we will provide regular updates. We have already started adding customers into the beta and will continue to add more people over time. You’ll receive a notification with all the details you need when you are admitted to the beta.

  • Nothing! When no other service is available, your phone will automatically connect to T-Mobile Starlink. You’ll see the network name “T-Mobile SpaceX” when connected. For more details, please refer to our support page.

  • Check out our coverage map to see where T-Mobile Starlink satellite coverage is available. We are also collaborating with our global roaming partners and SpaceX to offer satellite services to our customers when traveling abroad or in international waters in the future.

  • The beta is free for all. When T-Mobile Starlink launches in July, it will be included FREE on our best plan – Go5G Next – and available on other plans for $15/month.

Until April 1st, T-Mobile beta testers not on Go5G Next can secure an Early Adopter Discount of $5 off per month, reducing the monthly cost to just $10/month.

Verizon, AT&T and other customers can get T-Mobile Starlink without switching to T-Mobile for $20/month after the beta ends in July.

  • No worries! If you previously registered, we’ll reach out to you in the coming weeks with next steps on how to secure the Early Adopter Discount!

  • T-Mobile Starlink is the first and only space-based mobile network operated by a mobile provider in the US! We’re the only wireless provider to combine our mobile network with a satellite network, and that combination delivers benefits like broad availability, automatic connection for a ‘just works’ experience on most modern smartphones for anyone on any carrier, and a roadmap to deliver picture messaging, data services and voice calling in the future.

  • So many things:

    • T-Mobile Starlink is available to anyone on any carrier. Other carrier services are limited to their customers only, to the extent they are available.
    • Our partner, Starlink, is the undisputed leader in satellite technology. With over 550 satellites in orbit, it is the world’s largest satellite-to-mobile constellation. Others have a small fraction of that many satellites in orbit.
    • Our service uses T-Mobile network technology so that T-Mobile Starlink automatically connects to most smartphones launched in the last four years – regardless of OS. Other services don’t use any carrier network technology, don’t auto-connect, and are restricted to a specific OS and fewer devices.
    • Weworked closely with Apple and Google tomake T-Mobile Starlink the default satellite connection on their smartphones.
    • Our service is live in beta todaywith thousands of customers using it now – and more being admitted all the time. Other carrier services hardly even exist and have no customers
    • We have a roadmap to go beyond text messaging to deliver picture messaging, data services and voice calling as well as roaming with other Starlink partners around the globe and coverage in international waters in the future.
  • Most smartphones from the last four years will work with T-Mobile Starlink.

Satellite networks work differently from traditional cellular networks, so to ensure the best possible experience, smartphones need to be satellite optimized. We’re collaborating with our handset partners to optimize as many smartphones as possible, starting with newer devices.

These devices will work with T-Mobile Starlink (this list will be updated regularly):

    • Apple iPhone 14 and later (including Plus, Pro & Pro Max, & e)
    • Google Pixel 9 (including Pro, Pro Fold, & Pro XL)
    • Motorola 2024 and later (including razr, razr+, edge and g series)
    • Samsung Galaxy A14, A15, A16, A35, A53, A54
    • Samsung Galaxy S21 and later (including Plus, Ultra and Fan Edition)
    • Samsung Galaxy X Cover6 Pro
    • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 and later
    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and later
    • REVVL 7 (including Pro)

NOTE: Phone needs to be on the latest software to use T-Mobile Starlink.

Voice calling, including to 911, is not supported over satellite at this time. There are circumstances under which text-to-911 service over satellite may not be available or may be limited in comparison to traditional text-to-911 service. Those circumstances may include potential delay in connecting the text-to-911 service, potential inability to determine your location and telephone number, potential consequences of moving into or out of terrestrial coverage during a text exchange, potential inability for your device to connect to the satellite, and potential issues in connecting between satellite and terrestrial networks. Some 911 text messages over satellite may be delivered to an emergency call center, rather than to a traditional 911 answering point. The emergency call center may not be able to contact local emergency authorities or may be delayed in doing so. All satellite messages, including 911 messages, are subject to delivery delays.

Important risk factors could cause actual future results and other future events to differ materially from those currently estimated by management, including, but not limited to: the timing and finalization of agreements relating to building out the new network, and the time and costs relating to building out the network.
